Designing WordPress Websites in Tandem

I have often thought to my self that to develop two website together should not be nearly as much work as creating one straight after another. That’s because there are processes undertaken in the build that get duplicated for each site. For example, All of my websites feature a security plugin called WordFence, (In my view it’s the best around and so naturally and almost without exception, it’s deployed on every site I build)

Although I’m pretty sure I’m right about this I’ve never actually had the chance to put it to the test, until now that is.

This may sound odd, after all I’ve designed 100’s of websites and my work can be found all over the web. My current active page count that’s the total number of spereate search engine listed url’s that I have brought into existence is now not far shy of 4 Million

The thing is that ordinarily I stagger the production of web design projects so that cruial phases of one project, overlap only with non crucial phases of others. This way I can be sure that I don’t over comit myself, if something requires a little more than I had expected, I’m free enough to be able to pull off non crucial work to devote the time nessesary to meet a deadline.

A simple example of this is that I never aggree to apointments for the day after a project deployment. If an issue were to arise, it’s important to be able to act quickly because by this time that site has been launched and the public face of my client’s company would be at stake

Now though I have a chance to double up and test my theory because I’m starting two very similar websites at exactly the same time. The webste will have a similar configuration of plugins are both being built on WordPress, will feature WooCommerce in catalogue mode to show case each client’s respective range of product and I have even chosen to use the same wireframe theme base for each, that will then be style up differently.

The opportunity to hit top gear in productivty was too appealing a chance to miss. They’re both sheduled to launch in the first week of August, I’ll keep you updated.
