Today’s marketing and insights show that more and more people, as the years go by, rely on their mobile phone as their primary access to the web – that’s right UK phone users are overtaking desktops, laptops and tablets as their main mode of using the web. They’re easy to use whilst out and about – let’s face it, who wants to pull out their iPad from their bag, uncover it from it’s latest iPad case just to post a quick social media comment? In most cases, its ease of use, the latest smart phones do everything we need in one nice and compact place along with the recent increase in 4G services and the sign up to said services have grown from 2.7 million (at the beginning of 2014) to 23.6 million by the end of the year.
We also, now, spend almost twice as much time on a smartphone than a laptop – is this all coming as a surprise to you? Not to me….I’ve been a phone addict for the last few years, only using my laptop if I’m sat at my desk working (with my trusty phone to my side for social media updates!) or if I’m spending guilty time on Netflix.
So, as website designers, we have to keep all this information at the forefronts of our minds to create and develop usability for phone viewers. It is imperative nowadays that your website performs as well on a smart phone as your desktop or laptop. All our customers are using fully mobile friendly sites (responsive design) – are you? If you are looking for a mobile friendly website designed by WordPress specialists then look no further.
