When asked, I always refer to my job as a “Website Designer” but recently an increased number of companies in Milton Keynes have approach me to fulfil their graphic design requirements.
Graphic design tends to draw more on my creative skill-set than it does technical ability. Graphic design projects can often be longer in lead-time and more detailed design aspects are normally required than those compared with web design. Whereas web design often calls for simple clean UI’s (user interfaces) graphic design project need to incorporate a degree of visual wow factor.
Today I have a production meeting with my contact Chris from Uniquecapture, a local marketing consultant who is working on behalf of Sahtas Ltd. Shatas manufacture a range of traditional hand-made roof tiles and facing bricks. The project has been ongoing for some time and is developing into a real whopper. What started off as a 24 page brochure has swelled to 56 pages and counting.
It remains to be seen if today’s meeting will result in further increases in pagination or a signing off of the work that’s already been created.
