Running a Web Design Agency from my Home Studio
There are many great advantages of working from my home studio but it’s certainly a double edged sword because there are a number of disadvantages too. With three children and a working wife, our home like many others is a busy place particularly in the mornings.
Take this morning for example:
- 7:50 Drop off Wife at work – Good luck today baby [ today’s a big day for her ]
- 8:00 Drop Number 2 Son at school – Good luck lad [ it’s a big day for him too, he has 2 mock exams ]
- 8:15 home again.
- 8:30 Take daughter (Apple of my eye) to different school – Love you Poppet, don’t forget to be awesome
- 8:48 Home, make coffee, try to catch breath.
- 9:10 Panic! – Number 1 Son has lost his work ID badge
- 9:22 Panic over – ID found in his bedroom (big shock, not)
- 9:36 Panic #2 – Number 1 has missed bus.
- 9:52 Drop off son at work – Good luck lad [ it’s a big week for him too, started new job 2 days ago. ]
- 10:10 Home – Puft, cold coffee
- 10:24 finally begin work for the day!
Is it any wonder that most freelancers end up working nocturnally? In my case it’s only when the house goes quite, that I’m able to catch up on the missed hours.
At least it’s peaceful now, time to get creative.
